Menlo School definitely encouraged students to start learning how to be independent. The teachers are great, and the community is supportive. However, the pressure to succeed can sometimes be stifling.
Looking back on my four years at Menlo now that I am about to graduate, I am grateful for a lot but find myself thinking about how things could have gone differently. I enjoyed the way I was pushed to always do my best in class, even if it meant staying up late to get all my work done; I feel like it prepared me somewhat for college academic struggles. I also enjoyed the teachers. It was really easy to bond with them and ask for help when I needed it. As for some things I could see improves, I’d say the people they let in. A lot of kids I knew were not great people. Also, the amount of fun we were allowed to have. I didn’t enjoy being on campus really until the end of my senior year.
I love Menlo!!!! I really like how the school works. All the 6th grade teachers are super caring and nice. The food is great there and so is the staff. I’m glad I got this opportunity to go to such an amazing school.
I always felt supported throughout my high school career because my teachers were always there for me. When it came to my season, my teachers were always wanting to help so that I could balance both my academics and sports. Along with other staff members, they were also supportive throughout my high school career, they were always checking up on how I’m doing outside of school. The student body at Menlo is very welcoming. The sports team at Menlo allows for both under and upperclassmen to mix and get to know each other. Menlo students are very energetic and full of spirit when it comes to spirit weeks and other school spirit competitions.
I’m a transfer student and was anxious about going to a new school but, I’m so glad I took that chance and went for it. Found my new home. Menlo is a terrific school. Our son has thrived there and grown tremendously as a person and student over the past two years. He has transformed from someone who is shy to a confident and engaged student. The teachers are great. They offer a lot of help outside class time and they are all really nice and understanding. The balance between athletics and academics is really good. I don’t like the fact that they don’t offer as many AP classes as other schools though.
Menlo School offers excellent academics and a supportive environment. My daughter has flourished here, both academically and socially. The teachers are dedicated and always available to help. The school also offers a wide range of extracurricular activities that keep the students engaged.
